Dennis E. Bullard, MD, FACS is a Board Certified Neurological Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a graduate of St. Louis Uni- versity Medical School in 1975. He did his internship and residency at Duke University and a fellowship in neurology at the National Hospital for Neurologic Disease in London. He was on the faculty at Duke University from 1982 through 1987 and was a tenured Associated Professor in Neurosurgery. He received a Teacher Investigator award from the National Institutes of Health and research awards from the Interna- tional Neurosurgical Society and the Southern Neurosurgical Society. Read More >

Dana Johnson, PA-C, MPAS Physician’s Assistant

Dana has been providing surgical and clinical assistance to Dr. Bullard for the past three years. He helps evaluate patients in the clinic and they can also expect to see him at the hospital for surgeries and morning rounds. Dana graduated from the Physician’s Assistant Program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina in 1993 and received his Master of P.A. Studies from the University of Nebraska in 1999. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He is an avid outdoors man and was the NC Field Archery Bowhunter Freestyle Champion in 2005 and 2006.

“My primary goal is to get patients better. Hearing a post op patient talk excitedly about all of the things they can do again brings a smile to my face.”

Barbara Moore, CNA Medical Assistant

Barb has been in the medical field for 23 years and a part of the Triangle Neurosurgery team since 2004. Barb oversees Medical Records, coordinates diagnostic imaging studies and is the point of contact for Worker's Compensation cases. Her son who is in the United States Marine Corp is her pride and joy. She plays in a softball league, rides motorcycles and loves going to the beach.

“We have a lot of patients who refer their family and friends to us because of their own personal experience with our practice. The fact that they trust us to take care of those important to them makes me feel great about what I do.”

Kelly Shearon Clinical Research / Front Office

Kelly has been with Triangle Neurosurgery since March of 2011. She is involved with our clinical studies and maintains our research database. In addition to research projects, she also helps in the front office. She has an Associate of Arts degree from Wake Technical College. She is a native of central North Carolina and enjoys visiting both the beach and the mountains with her husband and three children.

Kasey Harrison, RN Registered Nurse

Kasey has a true passion for nursing and has been working with Neurological / Neurosurgical patients since 1997. She joined Triangle Neurosurgery two years ago and assists with taking health histories, physical examinations and responds to patient questions and requests. She grew up in North Carolina and enjoys spending her free time with her family. She also likes to scuba dive and kayak.

“Sometimes patients just need someone to listen to their concerns. It may not be the most clinical part of the job, but it is just as important.”

Kimberly Kennedy Billing and Collections

Kim has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years as a Medical Billing Specialist. Since joining Triangle Neurosurgery in 2010, she has helped our patients with all aspects of billing, including precertification for surgeries. She is originally from Florida and is an active volunteer at the Wake County SPCA.

“I help our patients navigate through the sometimes confusing world of medical insurance so they can focus on getting better.”

Ariel Clifford Front Office

Ariel Clifford is the first person most patients will see when they enter our office. This role fits her perfectly as she is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Prior to joining Triangle Neurosurgery, she worked as a Medical Assistant in Pediatrics and as a Patient Access Representative at Cape Fear Medical Valley Center. She has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Germanna Community College in Virginia. She currently lives in Raleigh and loves going to the beach, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends.

“My goal is for our patients to think that I never have a bad day. I’d like to come across as positive and calm at all times regardless of how I might be feeling that day.”
